The Wahls Protocol by Dr. Terry Wahls was the first autoimmune healing book I owned and I read it on behalf of a friend who has multiple sclerosis. Soon after, I was diagnosed with my own autoimmune condition, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and have found this book so intriguing with regard to food as healing for chronic conditions.
After my diagnosis on July 21, 2016, my research led me to the autoimmune protocol and the book The Autoimmune Paleo Cookbook by Mickey Trescott. Hers would be my very first AIP nutritional manual, and I am proud to have made many of her dishes.
Hashimoto’s Awareness Summit. Doctors, authors, Hashi patients and advocates, offering their wisdom to you. An invaluable resource, this summit was offered for free in 2016 for a single week online, and now is available for purchase at the link above. Before I was even diagnosed, it helped me prepare for what labs to ask for and questions to ask. It fueled the mission to continue advocating for myself in the conventional health care system until an answer was found. Beyond that, I gained wisdom in how to carry on the healing process. In the future I expect to be supporting other summits related to the same topic.
Thrive Market: Find lots of great deals on Paleo foods, like my latest treasure. And no, sadly, that almond butter cannot be eaten during the AIP elimination phase.
